A Note From Kenny: Why I Wrote This Course...
"I got an email the other day from a more experienced player who was frustrated with the fact that all of the online guitar courses were geared toward beginner's only and that they were so repetitious.
Here's what I wrote in reply:
Your right on both points. Most guitar courses only cater to beginners and are very repetitious. But did you know, there is one essential idea, that no online guitar courses
talk about, that is essential for both the beginner and the pro.In fact I haven't seen any guitar course, book or video cover this absolutely essential concept.
The concept is the hidden blueprint of the fingerboard that pro guitar player's seem to understand so well but almost never talk about. And even when they do, they don't really explain it in a way that you could learn from and use yourself in your own playing.
If you have ever watched a really great guitarist play and I mean up close where you can really see what he's doing. It's mind blowing! He just automatically knows where to find the good notes solo after solo phrase after phrase...
I had always wanted to know how they did this. I knew that they were seeing something on the fretboard when improvising, that I was not seeing. That one idea put me on a 30 something year journey to find the answer and that exactly what I did.
I learned exactly how to see those ideas and find all the good notes to create my own solos regardless of what chords or song I was playing.
There are only so many notes, scales and chords so it's no wonder that so many guitar courses teach chords, notes and scales.
But the BIG difference is in how you visualize or see those notes, chords and scales when you look at the fretboard.
When you look at the fretboard what do you see? What ever it is, that's all you have to make music with when you go to play guitar and improvise.
It doesn't matter how much theory you know or how many college music degrees you have or how good a site reader you are when it comes down to actually playing the guitar all you have is what you see when you look at the fretboard of your guitar.
That's why it's so important to have that "hidden blueprint" burned into your memory and programmed into your fingers when it comes time to play the guitar.
Most guitar course authors are not aware of how to teach this concept so instead they just show you some chords, scales and some music theory that most likely won't do you any good anyway. At least not how you had hoped it would.
This System is the ideal way to teach beginners but it is also the destination that guitarists of all levels are trying to reach, precious few ever do and even fewer, tell others how to do it once they have reached that place themselves.
This idea is the foundation of Guitarin60Seconds 2.0. Yes my course starts off easy enough for beginners but I have incorporated the concept of the hidden blueprint through out all of the lessons from the very beginning to the very end.
And yes, you will see me talking about notes, scales and chords on these videos but I guarantee you have never seen anyone show you how to see these notes, scales and chords on the fingerboard like Guitar in 60 Seconds 2.0 does.
I have had pro players use my course and call me up just to let me know how something they haven't been able to understand for 20 years or more suddenly became clear. Just read some of the hundreds of comments on my blog and you'll see what I mean.
What I love hearing the most from people who have used my course is when they say it makes everything else you have studied suddenly make sense. I know my course is more expensive than most but it will save you time, money and frustration and give you that edge you have been looking for.
There is some work involved, like anything but the work you put into these lessons will actually pay off and pay off big. Don't take my word for it check out the comments on the blog for yourself. Well over one thousand students are currently using this method to rapidly improve their guitar playing skills. Now it's your turn."

Hey
Kenny
I was traveling for Thanksgiving week, so I just
got home late last night. When I walked in the door
there was a nice big box with "Guitar
in 60 Seconds." on it
I was pretty tired from my traveling, but I popped
it in the DVD player... and I ended up watching the
entire first DVD before I went to bed. This is a really
SWEET course.
First of all, I like the "picture in picture"
so I can always see both the right and left hand.
But most of all, I really liked the pace... it didn't
feel rushed at all, the first disk goes from open
chords to playing basic songs with bar chords! And
that's just the first disk... I can't wait to get
to all the other disks.
Just wanted to say "great job" and thanks
for the course!

Guitar Myths That May Be Wasting Your Time
Have you heard that in order to learn to play
guitar the right way that you need to learn to read music
first? Did you also hear that you should start
out on the acoustic guitar before going on to the electric? So did I, but that advice couldn't have been more wrong.
In fact most of the things you have heard about learning
to play the guitar are myths.
So How Did I Finally Learn The
Truth About Learning To Play the Guitar?
I found a great teacher who showed me how music worked
directly on the guitar fretboard. Do you know what I mean
by that? In other words he showed me how to see
and understand music theory directly on the fretboard without
having to have a chart in front of me.
This gave
me the freedom to concentrate on HOW I was playing
instead of WHAT I was playing.I tried learning on my own with books and well that was
all really, because cool things like guitar tabs, guitar
instruction videos and the internet didn't exist yet.
(Yes, I remember very well when the VCR first came out.
I'm quite a bit older than I look.)
So why am I telling you all this? It boils
down to the fact that you need someone who's already been
there to show you how to get there yourself. You see I have traveled down that road of trying everything
under the sun to learn to play the guitar and I have survived
the journey.
Now, I want to show you the way. In
fact I can show you how to get there in much less time than
it took me. Remember I have been all up
and down this path, went down a few rabbit trails and back
again,so by now I know a few shortcuts and have learned
the most direct routes.
I Would Love To Teach You Face To
Face But That Is Just Not Practical For You or Me
That's why I decided to put my system into a Step-by-Step
guitar course that you can learn at home at your own pace. But I wanted my course to as close to a personal
lesson as I could get it so I recorded the lessons
on Video using professional Movie Quality Cameras.
We used 2 professional cameras so you could see my fingering hand and
my strumming hand at the exact same time. This
way you can concentrate on either part at any given moment. In some ways these videos are even better than taking
lessons from me personally for example, being able
to go back and see me explain a concept over and over again
as many times as you need until you really get it.
I'm a visual learner so it really helps
for me to watch someone play an idea rather than just
read about it in a book. How about you? If your like most of my students you just don't have a
lot of extra time to devote to practicing several hours
each day. Who Does?
So I decided to do something about it. I created a course that features simple 60 second guitar
lessons on DVD. Its almost like having me there in person
to practice with you.

Imagine If You Could Just Pick
Up Your Guitar and Play Any Song That Popped
Into Your Head
Can you see yourself playing those Riffs,
Fills and Solos as the band backs you up. Ok, if
you're like most of us you probably don't have a band but
that's ok, because whether you're playing with a
band or just playing along with the cd it's still
a very exciting moment when you play a riff off
the top of your head and you just nail it!
You know what I mean? If you don't you're not
alone, most guitarists that come to me
for lessons don't have a clue how to improvise
and neither did I when I first started
playing guitar 30 something years ago.
I Was On a Mission To Understand
The Guitar Inside-Out
Learning to play chords and rhythm guitar came pretty quickly,
but I still did not understand how different chords
were related to one another. I looked at songs as just one independent chord
after another, in other words a group of unrelated
chords.
But then I discovered that those chords
are related and always belong together. That discovery was a real turning point in my understanding
of how music really works on the guitar.
At first
I found it difficult to memorize the progressions in all
12 keys then I saw a pattern on the fretboard
that inspired me to create what I now call
the "Chord Progression Number Tools". These tools help you to instantly
see every chord progression in any key. The
only thing you need to memorize is the notes on string 5
and 6, I discovered a super easy way to do that as well
and it only takes a few minutes to learn.
Soloing Is What Really Inspired Me
To Play Guitar
The second thing
that really inspired me to play the guitar was soloing.
I always wanted to improvise even before I knew what to
call it.I knew I wanted
to be able to play, spontaneously, the music I heard in
my head. Especially when it came to soloing. I
remember when I was about 16 years old (in 1983), I was
auditioning for this band. I was already a really good guitar
player and could learn solos note for note by ear.
But I
still didn't have a clue how to reuse that information to
create my own solo's.We were playing one song
after another and I just nailed the solos. Then the drummer
says let's do a blues Jam. He tells me
to just listen to the chord changes and rip a solo
off the top of my head, you know, improvise.
I was completely
lost. I froze, not knowing what to do. I tried to get it together and attempted to improvise a
solo but it was pretty lame. I just didn't know how soloing
worked on the fingerboard. It baffled me how I could play
other peoples solo's just fine, but I just could not create
my own.
I knew I had to think differently. I figured scales
were involved in the process, but the fingerings
for scales were difficult to memorize and there seemed to
be so many different scales to learn. Later I realized that
most of those scales were actually the same scales with
different names.
Many years later
I discovered a way to see all scales over
the entire fingerboard at once in any key. This
is what I refer to as the Fingerboard Navigation
System. The best part of this system is that anyone
can use it to solo without knowing any scales at all.
I use this all the time with my students,
It even works great for kids so you can imagine how well
it works for adults.
4 Good Reasons To Listen To What
I Say
I am a professional guitar teacher and
author. My first guitar book "Unlocking
The Fingerboard" was published by Warner Bros®
in 1996 and became a popular book in the world of
guitar players. You can look up the title of my book
or my name on Google and see many results for each.
- I'm not going to promise you that you
can learn guitar in a weekend, in 30 minutes
or overnight. That's total hype. However you really
can learn to play guitar with my 60 second workouts!
- 100's of people have paid well over $1,200.00
to learn this method from me personally.
People don't pay over a grand to have the same recycled
information taught to them that they could get for
FREE off the internet or some off-the- shelf book
or method. Think about it. If I didn't have a hard-hitting
bullet proof method that can't be found anywhere else
I wouldn't be an in-demand teacher for long.
- I am a full-time Guitar Instructor and
I have taught 100's of people to play the guitar successfully and I have been doing it for over 20 years.
